Manual for using the CMS dashboard
CMS User Guide
This guide explains how to use the CMS dashboard to manage your portfolio content.
Getting Started
- Login: Access the CMS at
/loginand enter your credentials. - Dashboard: The home screen shows an overview of your site’s activity.
Managing Content
Blog Posts
Navigate to Blog in the sidebar.
- Create: Click “New Post”. Fill in the title, slug, content, and upload a featured image.
- Edit: Click on any post in the list to edit it.
- Delete: Click the trash icon to remove a post.
- Publish: Toggle the status to “Published” to make it visible on the frontend.
- Tags: Assign tags to categorize posts.
Portfolio Projects
Navigate to Portfolio in the sidebar.
- Add Project: Click “New Project”.
- Details: Enter project name, description, and links (Demo, GitHub).
- Technologies: Add technology tags for the tech stack used.
- Gallery: Upload multiple images for the project gallery.
- Featured: Mark projects as “Featured” to show them on the homepage.
- Categories: Assign categories and display order.
Resume
Navigate to Resume in the sidebar.
- Basic Info: Update personal information, contact details, and professional summary.
- Experience: Add your work history with company details and descriptions.
- Education: Add your degrees and educational background.
- Skills: Manage your technical skills with proficiency levels.
- Certifications: Add professional certifications.
- Languages: List language proficiencies.
- Achievements: Highlight professional accomplishments.
Resources
Navigate to Resources in the sidebar.
- Add Resource: Create useful resources like tools, tutorials, or references.
- Categories: Organize resources by type and category.
- Featured: Mark important resources as featured.
Testimonials
Navigate to Testimonials in the sidebar.
- Add Testimonial: Collect client feedback and reviews.
- Rating: Include star ratings (1-5).
- Association: Link testimonials to specific projects.
Tags
Navigate to Tags in the sidebar.
- Create Tags: Add tags for categorizing blog posts and projects.
- Manage: Edit or delete existing tags.
User Management
Users
Navigate to Users in the sidebar (Admin only).
- Add Users: Create new admin/editor accounts.
- Roles: Assign roles (admin, editor) and manage permissions.
- Status: Activate or deactivate user accounts.
User Engagement
Contact Messages
Navigate to Contacts in the sidebar.
- View incoming messages from the contact form.
- Mark messages as read, replied, or archived.
- Click on an email address to reply via your default mail client.
Newsletter
Navigate to Newsletter in the sidebar.
- View a list of all newsletter subscribers.
- Manage subscriber status (active, pending, unsubscribed).
- Export the list to CSV for importing into Mailchimp or other tools.
